Part 7 - Marketing yourself to prove to the clients that you are worth it
I'm sure you have heard this expression before
Perception becomes reality Marketing creates a perceived value so your clients will think of you before your competition. If you consistently send out high quality marketing pieces then your clients will believe you are successful. Even average agents can make a ton of money if they have a great marketing campaign.
If it's worth doing then it's worth doing well Remember that your reputation is attached to every marketing piece you send out. Make sure you use good quality graphics and artwork, good quality printing, and have someone proofread your materials to make sure there are no spelling or grammatical errors. Make sure you meet all guidelines with regard to copyrights and trademarks. Ensure all advertising meets the criteria of the Code of Ethics.
Dare you be different in your advertising, it will help you and your clients Remember first and foremost to position yourself in your prospect's mind. To do that, you need to differentiate yourself from the competition. Choose a personal slogan and logo and use it consistently on all marketing pieces. You can't be everything to everyone. You are better to find a niche group of people that you fit well with, and put all of your energy into becoming the "go to" person for that market. This is what relationship selling is all about.
Timeless marketing pieces will make a lasting impression Marketing pieces should last for decades so make sure you avoid trendy designs and colours. You will also want to avoid using your personal picture as your "logo" because your picture will change over time and in order to brand your image into your prospects' minds you need to use a logo that stays consistent from year to year.
